How to Get Your Home Ready for Winter
Fall is here! But snow could be right around the corner…
The leaves are turning, there is a crispness in the air, and kids are settling back into school year routines. Whether you’re still pining for summer or loving every minute of fall, we all know that winter is right around the corner and now is the perfect time to get ready for it.
For some, this means waxing your skis, changing the tires on your car, or buying extra lip balm and moisturizer to help with dry skin. As you get ready, don’t forget that your home needs a little bit of TLC too!
Your winter-ready home checklist:
-Check furnace filter, HRV filter and humidifier screen – change or clean if needed
-Inspect caulking around sinks, tubs and countertops and repair if needed
-Drain hose bibs and close shut-off valves
-Check the weather stripping on all exterior doors
-Monitor humidity and condensation (because, chinooks)
Give yourself peace of mind knowing these things have been checked off your list. Now, when the cold weather arrives, you can kick back with a hot cup of tea or cocoa!
